TAMARIU
El tamariu (C, PV), tamarit (PV), tamarell (B) (Tamarix gallica L.) o gatell (Ur, Ro, Cer) és una espècie d'arbre o arbust caducifoli del gènere Tamarix, que comprèn entre 50 i 60 espècies.
És una planta que suporta, fins a cert punt, la salinitat del sòl.
Aguanta bé el fred intens. És una planta adequada per estar al costat del mar. És un arbre ornamental plantat molt sovint per totes les ciutats mediterrànies.
